As the weather gets warmer and spring fills the air, one event sets the tone for the whole summer: Coachella. 2022 marks the first time this event has occurred since 2019, thanks to the lockdown. But, the festival is back in a big way, along with all its fashion-forward attendees. To celebrate its return, we’re looking at the best men’s Coachella hats and outfits from this year. Here’s what we discovered.
A Pale Rider Bites the Dust

Performers and attendees both wear fashionable Coachella men’s hat styles. In this case, singer Madeon wears an all-black outfit, complete with a black Pale Rider, to help block the harsh Indio light. His clothes are loose yet somewhat upscale, with slacks and a button-down shirt and a black cord belt to complete the ensemble. This is a real minimalist hat.
Feelin’ the Fedora

Coachella is a place for everyone to relax and have a good time. Actor Glen Powell is certainly doing that and illustrating how versatile the fedora is. Usually, a fedora is seen as a semi-formal hat, fit for both gangsters and businessmen. But, this laid-back approach works just as well, especially when paired with a breezy button-down overshirt, shorts, and a tank top underneath.
A Fringe Hipster

Fringe as a fashion statement is making a comeback in a big way. Here, we see a festival goer going all-in on the fringe as it dangles from his red fedora. The hat matches the outfit, as he’s also wearing black leather pants and a red suede coat with snakeskin and stud embellishments.
Many people at Coachella this year rocked the fringe, and we saw both men and women adorning themselves with it. So, one could say that this is no longer a fringe fashion statement.
Now I’m a Belieber

Coachella brings tons of well-known artists, even those that may seem a bit out of place. Justin Beiber rocks the stage in his signature “bad boy” look. He wears baggy jeans, Calvin Klein underwear, and a backward baseball hat. He also shows off his tattooed torso, and, to be honest, we would too.
Coachella Cowboys

It’s not just pop singers making the festival a hit. Latin artists also take the stage, like singer Eduin Cazares from the band Grupo Firme. He’s wearing a traditional Mexican cowboy outfit, complete with plaid pants, a western shirt, and a quintessential white felt men’s cowboy hat. The crown is a little higher than the Gucci cowboy hats we saw on Hollywood Boulevard earlier this year. But, the center crease and brim style are very similar.
A Fedora for the World Traveler

Here we have this gentleman wearing an outfit that spans the globe. His torso is loosely draped in a Japanese-style kimono, which is gently tucked into French basketball shorts. In lieu of a belt, he’s wearing the kimono sash tied around his waist. Since the shorts have no pockets, he has a fanny pack strapped to his chest.
This gentleman is also going for a classic look with a Panama hat men’s accessory. However, this model looks to be made of felt, so it’s actually a white fedora. Either way, the hat has a center crease, front pinch, and black hatband.
Coachella Steampunk Top Hat

This dashing man decided to take things back a few decades with a steampunk top hat and goggles. This look is reminiscent of the Slash top hat.
His outfit is decidedly modern, with a gray pullover and dark gray cargo pants. Even his aviators seem anachronistic when compared to the top hat.
